Title: Dangerous Climate Change
Coordinating Institutions: Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research (Link to Process)
Objective: "Our discussion paper argues for an "internal" definition of dangerous climate change that is based on people's experience or perception of danger in terms of their insecurity or lack of safety.
Our definition is based on psychological, social, moral, institutional and cultural processes that influence perceptions of individuals and societies about what constitutes danger. These perceptions of danger are determined by people's personal experience, values, information and trust.
We argue that it is not possible to make progress in defining dangerous climate change or formulating sustainable policy responses without recognising the central role played by perceptions of danger." (from Tyndall website)
Project Description: Dangerous Climate Change was an online discussion forum which was active throughout February and March 2003.
