Title: Further Actions against Climate Change
Coordinating Institutions: Governments of Japan and Brazil (Link to Joint Statement)
Objective: The Government of Japan, in cooperation with the Government of Brazil, regularly organises informal dialogues between policy makers on further action against climate change.
Project Description: A first three meetings were held in July 2002, July 2003 and September 2004. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Japan) held the "Fourth Informal Meeting on Further Actions against Climate Change" in Tokyo (Mita House) from 20 to 21 October 2005.
The Informal Meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Mutsuyoshi Nishimura, Ambassador for Global Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Luiz Alberto Figueiredo Machado, Director General, Department of Environment and Special Affairs, Ministry of External Relations of Brazil. Senior officials of 20 countries including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Iran, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia and the EC attended the Meeting.

The Fifth Informal Meeting on Further Actions against Climate Change took place 24-25 January 2007.
